It has been quite the journey for our Palm Bay Project. From finding the original home, to the complete interior and exterior overhaul, and now being the MSWA Mega Home Lottery Grand prize home. The Palm Bay renovation has been a journey Lux Interiors are proud to have been the driving force behind.
Finding the Perfect Property
The Palm Bay renovation had been a dream of Andrew and Kyle’s (the Co-Directors of Lux Interiors) from the very beginning. They wanted to purchase and renovate a full home under the Lux Interiors’ name as both a spec home, and as a chance to showcase the skillset and capabilities of the company they have built. Lux Interiors are an exclusive design and renovation company that accept a select number of home renovation projects per year. They embrace a philosophy of enhancing homes through a fusion of creativity and meticulous craftsmanship and deliver luxury renovations that not only meet but exceed expectations. This commitment to investing in quality is reflected in the stunning transformation of the Palm Bay property. What was once a dated and dysfunctional home is now stands as coastal oasis in the beautiful beachside suburb of Marmion. The first step in the journey was to find the perfect property to renovate. Andrew and Kyle were looking for a home with good bones, one they could see the potential of what could be. They were searching for a beach side location so the homeowners could enjoy the coastal lifestyle, while also being in close proximity to the city. When the Palm Bay property came onto the market and ticked all the boxes, they knew they had to move fast to secure the home.
Designing the Dream Home
The Palm Bay property required a full interior and exterior transformation, which covered landscaping to re-cladding, and everything in between. Hence began the extensive, and carefully considered design process which was a collaborative effort from the entire Lux Interiors team. The vision was to create a home that encompassed the relaxed, coastal lifestyle. Lux Interiors achieved this by incorporating natural tones and textures into the design which resulted in a warm, inviting home that reflects Perth’s stunning coastline. Curves were added to create a sense of flow and softness within a space which again leans into the coastal feel they wanted to achieve throughout the renovation. You don’t often find harsh lines and corners outside, so by curving elements within the home Lux was able to reflect the soft curves of nature, making the home feel peaceful, spacious, and calm. They made sure to balance the curves within the home, so you will find them throughout Palm Bay in the cabinetry, ceilings, skylights, stairwells, kitchen, and fireplace to name a few! Only the highest quality materials were selected for the home to ensure the renovation would stand the test of time, and of family life. A lot of time went into the development of the design as Lux wanted to make sure every corner of the house (internal and external) and the elements within it were carefully considered to create a space that would elevate the lifestyle of the family living in it. The greens, sandy colours, timbers, and grey marbles all reflect colours and textures you would find outdoors. Having these themes inside the home instantly makes people feel calmer and more relaxed which is exactly Lux Interiors want the new homeowners to feel.
The Renovation Journey
The original footprint of Palm Bay presented some challenges as it was almost like an apartment complex. The house needed proportion and balance, so the decision was made to add the wrap around balcony. To allow natural light to flood the home many of the walls were removed to open the space and large windows and doors added. Lux Interiors completed extensive structural modifications within many of the rooms to create a better flow, along with a relocation of the kitchen to elevate the lifestyle of the homeowners. Lux Interiors completed the renovation with their in-house team and quality craftsmen. It’s clear from the level of finish that the best of the best combined their efforts to complete this project with an attention to detail shines throughout the property.
The Result
When the transformation of the home was complete – it was time to sell! To ensure the house feel like a home a, team of professional stylists from Loam furnished and styled the property. This was the finishing touch Palm Bay needed to complete the coastal oasis, and it was an exciting day for the Lux Interiors team to see their extensive renovation, and 14 Months of hard work, complete. A successful open house was held, with many interested buyers in attendance but it was MSWA who secured the beautiful Palm Bay. There were multiple offers on the property, but Andrew and Kyle couldn’t think of a better result for Palm Bay, than it to end up in the hands of the wonderful cause that is MSWA, who exist to provide vital support and services to people living with neurological conditions in Western Australia. From a dated property to a luxury coastal retreat, every detail and corner of Palm Bay has been thoughtfully designed and masterfully renovated to create a home that inspires and enriches. Palm Bay was brought to life by a team of specialists who are passionate about what they do, and the result that now stands proud in Marmion, is testament to this.
